The original portrait by Towle is in the Wheaton College Art Collection and was painted at about the time of her wedding, 1829. Eliza Baylies Chapin Wheaton suggested the founding of Wheaton Female Seminary in memory of her sister-in-law Eliza Wheaton Strong, who died in 1834. Original portrait is oil on canvas.
