Happiness through virtue: the egoistic reasons for morality
Abstract
In this thesis, I advance the notion that moral virtues are necessary to live a truly happy life. This is a response to the Humean claim that agents do not have a reason to be moral. I examine what happiness is, and how morality is a means to achieving it.
