Walker Evans at Wheaton College
In 1940, the Trustees of Wheaton College, Norton, MA, hired Walker Evans to photograph the campus for a view book. During four visits to campus, Evans produced some 37 images, six of which were not used in the booklet published by Wheaton College in 1941 as Wheaton College Photographs. Walker donated enlarged and mounted versions of the photographs to Wheaton; these are part of the Walker Evans Collection (MC 171) in the Marion B. Gebbie Archives at Wheaton College in Norton, MA.
