Abstract
This thesis introduces a new form of literature, the plovella, which combines elements of novels, plays, poems, and songs to form a complex layering of interaction between narrator and characters. This approach enables the author to create a sense of ambiguity throughout the narrative. Both the narrator’s and characters’ perspectives are clearly incorporated into the work, creating a multi-faceted approach to presenting the story. Throughout the storyline, the reader is challenged to discern the reliability of the narrator’s perspective.The first section of this text is a fictional work detailing the lives of millennials within an Evangelical Christian community. While to many the lives of these young people may appear lacking in complexity and easily discernable, the narrative shows clearly that they are much more complex than they may appear to be. The second section analyzes how a plovella functions and the influence of culture and religion on the work.
