Abstract

Lines of Imperfection is artwork created in response to the story of Sadako Sasaki, a famous Japanese girl who was a cancer victim in Hiroshima. Her story inspired a site-specific installation comprising a thousand paper cranes. Following this project, three bodies of artworks emerged. Two of them were illustrations of sculptures: Optimism, a portable crane piece and 6th Face, six welded cubes with woven thread. The last installation was a series of drawings done with ink and paper: Intermixed. These artworks evolved through the concept of lines, shadows, metaphors and mathematical combinations.
